Do you have a keen interest in the art of wildlife photography ?

The Isle of Wight zoo is pleased to announce the launch of new Photography Workshops. These are a series of full day photography workshops will be hosted by professional wildlife photographer Karen-Jane Dudley, who will guide you throughout the day with advice and tips on the art of wildlife photography.

The workshops will give behind the scenes access at a number of specially designed photography stations providing you with a unique opportunity to photograph a variety of the zoo’s stunning big cats including Zena the white tiger and Casper the white lion at close quarters.

The purpose built photography stations have been designed with both safety and photography in mind with specially designed 'lens ports’ that will give a clear unobstructed view .The 'lens ports’ will be of great benefit to photographers of any level including those using compact cameras .

Price for a full-day workshop

• £105.00 per head
• Island Resident discounted rate £95.00 per head 
• Student discounted rate £70.00 per head

This includes:

• Entry to the zoo
• Lunch
• Full day's photography tuition with Karen-Jane Dudley .
• Accompanied 'behind the scenes’ access .

Sessions may be subject to change depending on animal welfare and weather.
Each group to accommodate min 8 people/max of 12 per workshop. If sufficient places are not sold classes may have to be cancelled, in which case the zoo will refund your fees or allocate you a place on another workshop at your request.

Due to the close behind-the-scenes nature of the workshop, this is suitable for people aged 18 or over only.

Karen-Jane will make the final decision on whether classes can go ahead. She will check the weather forecast in the weeks leading up to each workshop and will notify participants a week in advance if the forecast is too severe to go ahead.

Karen-Jane is a professional photographer with international experience. Her specialism is African wildlife, and she spends several weeks every year in South Africa. She is the zoo's official photographer and is responsible for most of the beautiful images on the website and within the zoo itself.
